Of Comedy and Nature

We are getting a lot of queries about what families can do during winter time...something that does not require a truckload of spare spending cash and long travel hours and hopefully, something within Garden City. That’s not too hard an answer to find, really and here, we have a few suggestions for you and our New Jersey charter bus rental customers.

Get that dry, British humor going

It’s holiday season so, we need to spread some hope, cheer and the good ole belly laughter all around and there is no better place to share all of that awesomeness than watching Brit-inspired comedy actwhich spins a tale around Monty Python and The Holy Grail. As we all know, both these stories are renowned all over the world, they come in musical and theatrical forms...but this is one of those comedic acts that you just can’t miss. It tells the legendary tales of King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table. Loads of songs, dancing, hilarious lines and they throw in some funny sexy, dancing divas just to spice up the act.

A True NJ Gem - Barnegat Lighthouse and Park

Like how the Statue of Liberty is instantly considered an iconic landmark for not just New York City but the country, Barnegat Lighthouse, one of the tallest lighthouses in the country is also another natural iconic landmark for New Jersey. To find the lighthouse, bring the New Jersey charter bus, shuttle bus, coach charter, minibus, schoolbus or party bus to Broadway and The Bay on Long Beach Island. The lighthouse is located in New Jersey’s longest offshore island. You can get to the island by car or charter bus depite it being approximately four miles out at sea. This should an interesting and educational tour for foreign visitors, really, because there is a very informative guide located at the lighthouse’s center which is open all the time.
Don’t worry about finding a parking spot if you are driving yourself to this amazing New Jersey landmark because there is plenty of free parking near the attraction. It is very convenient to just park and walk over to the lighthouse’s guest center. At the tourist center, learn about the lighthouse’s deep history and roots while also taking in the fact that there is a huge state park right next to it, the environment surrounding the lighthouse and also the wildlife preservation efforts made by the government.
Have a look around the park and you will realize just how popular the lighthouse is with not just tourists and visitors from out of town but birds. Birds of all kinds tend to love the lighthouse too. Have a stroll around the park during winter and if you are lucky, you will catch sight of a Harbor Seal. We love the jetty so much that we spent much of our time (after visiting the lighthouse) loitering around the jetty that juts out into the sea. Standing on the jetty with our friends, we simply took the time to take awesome pictures together while enjoying what nature had to offer.
Suffice to say, for sixty years, darkness loomed over Barnegat Lighthouse in which time, it served more as a museum and tourist attraction than a lighthouse. But it was in 2009 that the main function of the lighthouse came back....which is to serve as a lighthouse. Since then, it is a beacon for ships which lights shines out to more than twenty miles offshore.
If you are up to it, pay a small fee to climb to the top of the lighthouse for a breathtaking scenery. There is a story to every place and it is from the top of the lighthouse that all that you have learned about Jersey Shore seems to gel together so naturally.

Fun Festivals to Catch this Fall in NJ

Don’t miss them, folks. Don’t. It is fall now and we should make the most out of the rest of fall that we have right now. If you are still hunting around for the best bus companies New Jersey event, we have just the right news for you and they are time-relevant too.
Sugarloaf Crafts Festival
The first one we would like to feature would be the fun Sugarloaf Crafts Festival which is taking place on Oct 25 -27, 2013. At the point of publishing this article, you still have a couple of days to visit this one-of-a-kind event whereby you will get to browse and buy handcrafted work from more than two hundred and seventy five artists and craftsmen. Head over to Garden State Exhibit Center to find bargain pottery, fashion items, accessories, stuff made from wood, leather and metal and of course, we leave out photography and fine art. If you head over to the event early when the artists are still there, you might even get to share their trade secrets too! The President of Sugarloaf event maintains that they have considered the quality and uniqueness of each of the items before including them for the event. This is the place where a twenty dollar pair of earrings will bear a very special meaning with you.
Trucktoberfest
Although this event is already over and done with, we wish to mention it all the same. Sometimes, because of our extremely busy schedule, we might miss out the chance to be a part of Oktoberfest, which is touted to be one of the most popular international festivals. So, what does one do when they miss out to be a part of something this huge? Head over for the next best thing which is Trucktoberfest! This year, The Food Trucks took it upon themselves to set up the festival at Monmouth Park on September 28, 2013 to celebrate October....food truck style!
We absolutely enjoyed the German beer garden where visitors got to sample some of the most amazing creations....in the form of drinks to complement all that mouth-watering truck foods. You name it, they had it - be it Italian sausages or bacon on wheels, French fine dine right down to cheesy delights.
Monmouth’s Breeders Club Happy Hour
Pull out your calendars and start penciling in November 2, 2013 for Breeders’ Cup Classic Happy Hour event happening between 6pm to 9pm whereby like-minded people gather together for their favorite drinks.
Event organizers, we would love to hear from you if you are currently organizing an event in NJ. Bus Companies New Jersey would love to be a part of all that excitement in the near future.

Morris Museum

If you are visiting Morristown soon and are wondering what to do there with your family, you can always charter a New Jersey bus and have the bus driver send you and your family to the Morris Museum at 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown and spend a day touring the museum. At Morris Museum, they have many different kinds of exhibits, some which are permanent ones while some are for a certain period of time only. Hence, even if you visit this museum this time with your family, the next time you go again in a New Jersey charter bus, chances are that you will see some “new” exhibits at the museum that you probably didn’t get to see this round.

For kids, the Morris Museum is surely a favorite place to visit during holidays because they offer many hands on and interactive displays and exhibits for the children. Being able to touch, feel and “play” with the exhibits in the museum is definitely a big hit with kids because kids just love to play and it is always a great way for them to learn too, as they play and discover the many wonderful things in the museum. We would not be too wrong if we say that the Morris Museum provides the family a place to play and learn together. There is just so much to see and so much to do in here. Model trains, historical mansion, costume exhibition, a Guinness collection of Automata (which is a collection of automatic devices and objects that make music – something like a giant music box) – these are just some of the things you can expect to see when you arrive at the Morris Museum in the New Jersey bus. In some parts of the museum, they also have exhibits on taxidermied animals, fossils, geology and the gift shop is also a great place for you to stop by to buy some souvenirs home.

They are, however, closed on Mondays, and the major holidays. Otherwise, they are open from Tuesdays right through till Sundays, from 11am to 5pm (Tuesday to Saturday) and from 12 noon to 5pm on Sunday. Also, on the second and third Thursday of every month, the admission is “Pay as You Wish” from 5pm to 8pm. You can always take advantage of the “Pay as You Wish” offer by the museum and plan your trip to the Morris Museum in the New Jersey rented bus on the second or third Thursday of the month.

Best New Jersey cities

There are really endless number of places to visit when one is in New Jersey but often times, we know nothing much about the smaller cities. In this article, we would like to highlight a couple of New Jersey’s top neighborhoods and cities which we think one should visit with or without a shuttle bus, coach charter, mini bus or party bus. The ones we would like to highlight would be Atlantic City, Jersey City and of course, Newark.
Atlantic City is naturally known as the East Coast’s version of Las Vegas. Gaming enthusiasts will easily and quickly fall in love with the sheer number of options as far as casino is concerned. Many charter bus New Jersey tourists come here specifically for the casinos and entertainment and even if you are not a fan of gaming, it is fun to just walk and stroll around enjoying the fun and exciting atmosphere. Sometimes, you feel like you are ready to be a part of all the excitement without having to play the games with others. And besides, there is plenty of activities like watersports, museums, golfing, beaches and kid-friendly activities. One of the most popular activities in Atlantic City is the Wild West themed amusement parks.
Jersey City is the second most popular tourist hotspot for New Jersey and the second most populous as well. There are benefits to being located slightly across from the lower Manhattan downtown area - tourists and easy to locate restaurants, cafes and entertainment and it has something to do with the growing population. Tourists and vacationers often find themselves falling deeply in love with new waterfront areas like Newport and Exchange Place which is located very near residential area (for a very good reason) but is growing in popularity for foreign tourists. Take a charter bus rental ride through to popular districts like The Heights or what most locals prefer to call the Jersey City Heights.
Newark, although suffering from a rather negative image in the past (known as New York’s ‘tough’ neighborhood), has come to become a popular New Jersey tourist attractions because there is an ever growing effort to turn it around. There is a major International Airport in Newark and new art galleries, entertainment outlets, parks and historically significant buildings being restored and promoted to tourists. If you have kids with you during your New Jersey charter bus rental trip here, bringing them to the mini zoo, planetarium, parks and live performances.
And in the meantime, if you are looking for a reliable, professional and affordable charter bus rental package, please do give Bus Companies NJ a call right now and let our customer service representatives hook you up with the best ride for your trip here in New Jersey. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Cookout Party at Ezekiel’s Table, New Jersey

Are you planning a ladies’ outing with your girlfriends? Do you all enjoy cooking or are attempting to learn to cook better? Or, better yet, are you looking for a trip that will benefit everyone in the group? Why not learn to cook while you go on a trip? Sounds like a great plan, doesn’t it? Well, then you and your lady friends should start planning a trip to Ezekiel’s Table at 974 Mercer Road, Princeton, NJ on a chartered New Jersey bus for a day’s of cookout party there!

Eight persons would be just the right number for a “Cooking Class Dinner Parties for Eight” at Ezekiel’s Table – where you and your friends can get to choose when you want to go and what kind of menu you would like to have. Next, be sure to charter a New Jersey bus to take you and your friends to Ezekiel’s Table on the appointed day for a day of fun learning to cook and dine with the hosts right in the beauty of their Colonial dining room.

As you and your girlfriends arrive on the grounds the 300-year old farmhouse of Ezekiel’s Table, you will soon be escorted right into a rather large kitchen where all the action begins. Throughout the whole cooking process, you will be guided and taught by none other than, Chef Marcia Wilsie. She is generous in her sharing of tips and techniques of cooking to all present; always encouraging everyone to experiment with flavorings as well as spices. Cooking in a group has never been this much fun; and after all the hard day’s work of preparation, cooking and serving up the dishes, everyone will get to enjoy what they have conjured up in the kitchen in the beautiful Colonial dining room. And the best thing about the whole trip is that all the shopping and preparation of workstations in the kitchen is done by Chef Marcia herself – all you and your girlfriends need to do is just show up and have fun cooking as she guides everyone in her kitchen!

Ezekiel’s Table does not only cater to just eight people per visit – they also welcome guests who wish to throw parties like a bridal shower, a birthday party, a corporate get-together or even if it is just a “learning to cook session” with Chef Marcia Wilsie! Whatever the season, whatever the occasion, Ezekiel’s Table is definitely a wonderful place to go in a rented New Jersey bus any day.

Learning All About Glassblowing in NJ

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes on how glass is being shaped? Ever wished that you could try your hands on making your own glass creations? Now you can do just that – just rent a New Jersey bus and come on over to the Hot Sand at 550 Cookman Avenue, Asbury Park and learn glassblowing from the professionals! And if you like, you can bring your family, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbors – oh well, you get what we are trying to tell you, right?

When you arrive at the Hot Sand in your New Jersey bus, you will understand why we have suggested that you rent a bus to bring you and your family and friends there – if you have driven there yourself, you may have to circle the block a few times before you are able to find a parking spot. Hence, renting a New Jersey bus for this trip is definitely a wise decision and totally worth it. You will be amazed as you watch how the bubble would transform from fire into colorful crystalline works of art and trust us, you will be itching to get your hands on to try it yourself too. Hot Sand Glass Studio is the country’s first ever glassblowing studio where the public can have access to have a hands on experience of glassblowing.
Their studio is open for glassblowing sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (from 12noon to 7pm) and on Fridays and Saturdays (from 12noon to 8pm) and on Sundays (from 12noon to 6pm) while their gallery hours are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (from 12noon to 8pm), Fridays (from 12noon to 10pm), Saturdays (10am to 10pm) and on Sundays (from 10am to 6pm). They are closed on Tuesdays.

At Hot Sand Glass Studio, you need to be at least nine years old to join one of their glass artists and create your own unique glass work. They have a Glassblowing menu for you to choose which activity you want to participate in; so pick your choice and let your journey of making your very first glass artwork begin! For many New Jersey bus passengers, a trip to the Hot Sand Glass Studio is always a memorable one – not only do they get their hands on trying out glassblowing, they also get to bring home their creation too. Charges are applicable, of course, but it is really worth it. There have also been on many occasions where parents of newborns would bring their babies to have a quick cast of their babies’ footprints or handprints done for keepsakes. Now, that’s awesome, don’t you think so?

Morey’s Piers - Fun in the Sun All In One Place

Summer holidays are soon approaching. For some, this is the time to get some good tan, organize outdoor games or sports while others just want to laze around and practically do nothing. But if you are married with young and energetic children, getting a good tan and organizing outdoor activities may not be so easily accomplished unless you can find a place to take the whole family for some fun in the sun that includes sun tanning and outdoor activities. In New Jersey, there are whole lot of such places where you can rent a New Jersey charter bus and take everyone out for a day of fun in the sun!
One of such place that you can book a bus and take the whole family to is Morey’s Piers - a place where you will find a combination of theme park, water park and beach camping too. This place is just packed with rides for the younger children and crazy, bigger rides for the older ones, great water parks that will literally drenched you, and a beach camp for you to just laze under the sun and get a good tan!
Morey’s Piers has been opened and operating since 1969 and was voted as the second best seaside amusement park in the world by Amusement Today. Starting from a humble beginning back then, today’s Morey’s Piers has more than one hundred rides and attractions built on it. Almost anything that you can think of that will be a cause for a rush of adrenalin - you can literally find it here on Morey’s Piers. From bungee jumping to rock climbing, go cart tracks, to the heart stopping The Great Nor'easter rollercoaster, - you name it, they’ve got it (well, almost)! There is no way your kids will tell you that they are bored - not ever. Not in Morey’s Piers.
They also have good restaurants where you can grab a quick bite if you are hungry after all the screaming, swimming, running and playing. There are about thirteen different types of restaurants and food stalls that you can choose and pick from - ice creams, snacks, pretzels, fresh fruits, seafood are just some of the things that you will be able to find. If you prefer to enjoy a sit down dinner, they have a few fancy ones too.
If you prefer to camp along the beach (you need to sign up if you intend to camp though), they allow campers to bring their own food and drinks, but alcohol is strictly prohibited. Whatever activity that you may choose to do at Morey’s Piers, the important thing is to know that at the end of the trip, you have your reliable rented bus waiting for you to bring you home.

The sound of music in New Jersey

Throughout the year, the state of New Jersey is host to a variety of music festivals. The diverse array of festivals take place inside and outside, across the state, featuring many different styles and genres of music. Some of these festivals offer educational opportunities and others give rental bus visitors a chance to both camp out and listen to some of their favorite music. Visit New Jersey with a bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coach or school bus rented from Bus Companies New Jersey and enjoy some of the best music of today.
At the beginning of May, contemporary pop musicians gather at New Jersey's Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford for this two-day event. Started in 2002 by John D'Esposito and Coachella producer Kevin Kopacko, the festival is intended to recreate Coachella on the East Coast for New Jersey rental bus visitors, albeit with its own personality. The festival features nine stages of the most popular rock, hip-hop and alternative musicians of the day. Unlike other outdoor festivals, Bamboozle plays rain or shine.
A Rutger's student-led event since 1975, the New Jersey Folk Festival aims to highlight folk culture while teaching students festival management and public relations skills. Rental bus visitors can watch the festival's eclectic group of musicians perform music from around the world. The festival has seen Highland bagpipers, Middle-Eastern ensembles and singers of ancient West African songs. The festival also puts on a juried craft market with over 100 booths, a singer/songwriter competition and a children's area with activities ranging from a potato sack race to free face painting to a pie-eating contest. The day-long festival is held at the end of April.
Held in the both the spring and the fall, Camp Jam in the Pines is a three-day long festival of bluegrass, country, blues and Americana. In the past, the festival has featured musicians such as Caravan of Thieves, Eilen Jewell and Lower Case Blues. Camping is available at the festival site and the nearby Holiday Inn offers discounts for rental bus visitors to the festival. A small area of the campgrounds is reserved for "quiet" camping; music is prohibited in this area between midnight and 8 a.m.
Rental bus visitors can hear the latest in leading edge music when upcoming artists of the Tri-State area are given the opportunity to showcase their work in front of thousands of people during the Wave Gathering Music Festival. Held in mid-June, the festival is a weekend-long event and takes place at a number of bars, restaurants, churches and other venues in downtown Asbury Park. Most of the event takes place on Cookman Avenue, including the free street festival held on the Saturday of the event. The musicians who play the festival are upcoming artists from all genres, and are able to hear from and connect with industry leads through the festival.
New Jersey has never sounded better than during a rental bus visit during a music festival. Give Bus Companies New Jersey a call today to plan your rental bus trip, and travel to the festival in style and comfort in your rental bus.

Jersey shore jaunt

The New Jersey Shore, popularly known simply as the "Jersey Shore," is a popular vacation destination for rental bus visitors. The area is home to many famous beaches, beach towns and boardwalks, including Atlantic City, which for years was the only place in the United States with casino gambling other than Las Vegas, and Asbury Park, known as the home of Bruce Springsteen. A great way of getting in and around New Jersey is with a bus, charter bus, coach bus, party bus, mini bus, passenger coach or school bus chartered from Bus Companies New Jersey.
The main reason charter bus visitors come to New Jersey in a Bus Companies New Jersey bus is for the beaches, and the New Jersey Shore is home to dozens of swimming and surfing beaches, such as Cape May, Ocean City, Long Branch, Point Pleasant Beach, Ocean Gate and Wildwood. For rental bus visitors traveling with families, Bradley Beach Park is located right on the boardwalk of Bradley Beach and offers a gated park for kids to play in, along with an adjacent mini-golf course. Belmar is another wide, sandy beach with calm water and several parks right on the shore, as well as a nearby food court. In the southern half of the Jersey Shore, the beaches between Atlantic City and Margate are among the most popular, with plenty of activity on the elevated boardwalk. Most Jersey Shore beaches charge access fees, while free beaches can be found in Atlantic City, Wildwood and Sandy Hook, the latter part of the Gateway National Recreation Area.
Aside from the beaches, charter bus visitors will also find other attractions in New Jersey. The Cape May Zoo offers 80 acres of exhibits and more than 500 mammals, birds and other animals and admission is free. Atlantic City is one of the country's top gaming centers, with 24-hour casinos filled with slot machines and table games. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier in Ocean City is an amusement park with 35 rides and attractions that's been a boardwalk fixture and New Jersey charter bus visitor favorite for more than 70 years. Morey's Piers and Beachfront Waterparks, on the boardwalk in Wildwood, offer more than 100 rides, including oceanfront roller coasters. Travel to the northern part of Jersey Shore in your charter bus, where there's the Keansburg Amusement Park and Runaway Rapids Family Waterpark, as well as the historic Sea Girt lighthouse, now a museum.
Recreational opportunities for rental bus visitors along the New Jersey Shore are highlighted by water activities, including boating, fishing, kayaking and sailing. The Jersey Shore also is known for its diverse year-round fishing, thanks to the convergence of the Gulf Stream, and Hudson and Delaware rivers. A wide variety of fish can be caught off the coast, including striped bass, bluefish, and fluke. Anglers can surf cast from certain beaches and inlets, or book deep-sea fishing cruises from marinas in Cape May, Wildwood, Long Beach Island, Atlantic City, Sea Bright and other towns. The Jersey Shore also has dozens of golf courses, many of them associated with resorts. One of the most popular is the Sand Barrens Golf Club, a 27-hole course about a half-hour south of Atlantic City in Cape May.

Last of the Nazi Air Giants at Lakehurst

Take a step back into history by booking a party bus, charter bus, mini bus, school bus or tour bus with Bus Companies NJ and visit the site of one of the world’s greatest aircraft tragedies of its time
in Lakehurst, New Jersey, the site of one of the world’s then largest and most famous aircraft disasters of all time.
One of the first filmed air disasters in the 20th century is that of the Zepplin Hindenburg – the pride of the Nazi airship fleet, the biggest aircraft ever built at 804 feet long, filled with over seven million cubic feet of combustible hydrogen.
The visual spectacle of the burning air craft as it crashed to the ground in flames has become one of the most recognizable television footage of all time and has been etched in the minds of thousands who witnessed it, either live or on television. Tour bus visitors from all around the world loves to come to have a quick look so that they can connect with the event.
On May 6, 1937, as it was landing at a Navy base in Lakehurst, New Jersey, the nearest place to Manhattan that was big and empty enough to handle it burst into flames and crashed. Thirty-six people died and with them the popularity of zeppelins as transatlantic transit.
The site where the Hindenburg crashed is still part of an active Navy base and it sits still, big and empty, a windswept expanse of crumbled asphalt and occasional scrubby weeds. As somber as it is, charter bus tourists think of it forms a relevant part of NJ's aviation history, something that all of us can learn something from.
Charter bus visitors can have a tour of the crash site but need to be screened weeks in advance. The exact spot of the crash is marked by a metal wind-turned silhouette of the Hindenburg atop a pole, and an anchor-chain outline of the Zeppelin on the ground.
There’s a small museum located in the Airship Information Center that is packed with artifacts and memorabilia and a short walk away is the giant Hangar 1. The huge hangar once sheltered the Hindenburg and now encloses a life-size replica of the Hindenburg's control car (made for a 1975 Hollywood movie about the Hindenburg that starred George C. Scott) and a neon and metal blimp sign that once stood outside of the defunct Lakehurst Motel along with items salvaged from the wreck: a drinking cup, a fork with the Hindenburg logo, and a section of girder -- the largest piece of the doomed airship that survived.
There's simply too much to see but it is highly recommended for anyone making a bus charter mini bus trip to New Jersey so book your trip today with Bus Companies NJ to see what air travel could have become, if the Nazi’s had won or if the Hindenburg had never crashed.
